This beautiful shrub with its pink-purple pea shaped flowers and blue-green foliage is a standout in the Australian bush. Flowering in late winter and spring, it has an upright habit and can be straggly. The ‘indigo’ refers to the purple dye which is obtained from the leaves and stem of some Indigofera species. There are approximately 700 Indigofera species with around 30 found in Australia, with Indigofera australis being the most common.
