Blue Banded Bee - Amegilla cingulata card
Australian native fauna
Reproduced from an original watercolour painting by Cheryl Hodges
Greeting card 10 x 15cm, blank inside with white envelope
Text on reverse of card reads:
The Blue Banded Bee is one of Australia’s most beautiful native bees. They have a glossy black abdomen and iridescent blue stripes (the males have five blue stripes, females have four). They are solitary but females may build nests together in the same location, and the males ‘roost’ together on plant stems. Blue banded bees are ‘buzz pollinators’, making them ideal for crops such as tomatoes, eggplants and chilies.
