Correa baeuerlenii occurs on the South Coast of NSW from Batemans Bay to Bega. The species is regarded as vulnerable, some populations are protected in Deua and Mimosa Rocks National Parks. This attractive shrub has glossy green leaves, red stems, and a distinctively shaped calyx which gives rise to its common name ‘Chef’s Cap Correa’. The type specimen was collected by Wilhelm Baeuerlen in southern NSW and named by Ferdinand von Mueller in 1884.
