An original watercolour painting of the Mexican Hawthorn - Crataegus 'smithiana'.
Crataegus ‘smithiana’ is a spontaneously occurring hybrid between C. azarolus and C. mexicana which was noticed in Yarralumla Nursery by John Hobday. It was planted along the side of Northbourne Avenue around 1949, alternating with Eucalyptus maculosa.
Painting is framed in a 3cm deep box frame. Outer measurement of frame is 39cm wide x 38cm high, inner window measures 22cm wide x 20cm high. This painting can also be purchased without the frame, in the mat for $260.
