Chequered Cuckoo Bee - Thyreus caeruleopunctatus - limited edition print A4 size

$80.00

The Chequered Cuckoo Bee - Thyreus caeruleopunctatus is an Australian Native Bee.

Limited edition Giclee print, edition of 50, comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. A4 size - 297mm x 210mm. Printed using archival quality inks and 300gsm fine art paper.

Chequered cuckoo bees are very eye-catching with their pretty blue patches. Like cuckoo birds, the female cuckoo bee lays its eggs in the nests of other bees – in this case blue banded bees, and when the larva hatches it either eats the host larva, or its food provisions, or both.

Image reproduced from an original watercolour painting by Cheryl Hodges. Colours may vary slightly from those on your screen.

Please note that photos of framed artworks are 'mockups' and are not necessarily to scale - use measurements above for sizing.
