This painting is of the ventral view (underside) of the male Delias nigrina. The upperside is mostly white with some black edges on the forewings, so when the males are flying they flash black and white. The females have more grey and black on top. Delias nigrina are found along the east coast of Australia, usually in rainforests and moist coastal forests. The adults are nectar feeding, and the larvae feed on mistletoe species
