Solanum linearifolium or Mountain Kangaroo Apple is endemic to NSW, ACT and Victoria, with an endangered status in Victoria. The fruit is edible, but must be fully ripe (it splits on ripening). It can be eaten raw or cooked and has a sickly sweet taste, sometimes bitter. The quality can vary between plants and seasons.
